Meta, perusahaan induk Facebook dan Instagram, sepakat untuk membantu Serie A memantau dan menghapus konten streaming ilegal secara real-time.
“Kami membantu liga mengembangkan perangkat lunak yang membuat proses pelaporan lebih mudah dan cepat,” kata Luca Colombo, Country Director Meta di Italia.
Dengan kerja sama ini, Serie A akan punya akses ke software canggih milik Meta untuk:

Hak Siar Adalah Sumber Pendapatan Utama
Hak siar bukan sekadar kontrak biasa, tapi juga sumber pendapatan terbesar bagi liga dan klub. Dalam kontrak lima tahun dengan DAZN dan Sky, Serie A berhasil mengantongi 4,5 miliar euro (sekitar Rp 75,4 triliun).

Hasilnya? Pada Desember 2024, kepolisian Italia berhasil membongkar jaringan pembajakan video terbesar di Eropa. Jaringan ini punya 22 juta pengguna dan menghasilkan 3 miliar euro per tahun dari streaming ilegal.

Menurut Profesor Carlo Bianchi dari Universitas Roma, “Pembajakan digital bukan hanya melanggar hukum, tetapi juga merusak industri kreatif secara keseluruhan. Kerja sama antara liga olahraga dan platform digital seperti Meta adalah langkah yang sangat dibutuhkan.”
Dr. Angela Rossi, pakar hak kekayaan intelektual, menambahkan, “Peningkatan teknologi memang mempermudah akses, tetapi juga membuka celah untuk pelanggaran hak cipta. Solusinya harus melibatkan regulasi ketat dan kerja sama lintas sektor.”

Kerja sama Serie A dan Meta hanyalah awal. Luigi De Siervo, CEO Serie A, berharap platform digital lainnya seperti Google juga ikut bergabung.
“Kerja sama dengan Meta adalah langkah pertama, dan saya berharap platform lain akan ikut bergabung dengan usaha kami,” katanya.
